How Should I Prepare For My Spray Tan?
Preparing for your sunless sesh is EQUALLY as important as your artist being educated and experienced. Proper maintenance falls into that same category, but we are focusing on prep today! Take a peek at the prep steps, and the why’s behind them, so you can learn more about why you can’t just show up willy-nilly for your tan!
24 Hours PRIOR to your appointment:
- Complete all beauty services 24-72 hours BEFORE your appointment.
- Things like waxing or manis/pedis after your spray tan will likely remove your tan prematurely, thus making your tan look uneven.
- Shower, Shave & Exfoliate
- Shower a minimum of 6 hours before your service. Your skin actually holds onto water, and if your skin is “full” of H2O, it’s likely not going to be able to absorb your customized solution properly. In addition, it does somewhat change your PH levels, and that’s also a no-no when spraying.
- Shaving 24 hours prior in combination with {GENTLY} exfoliating helps to ensure that we get to tan the most healthy skin cells possible. Resulting in a more even, gorgeous glow that lasts even longer!
- Small amounts of lotion are acceptable to use the day (after you’ve shaved & exfoliated) BEFORE your tan.
Day Of Your Session:
- No soaps, lotions or deodorants the day of.
- We do offer makeup wipes in studio, for east make up removal the day of. If you don’t have to wear makeup the day of your session, please refrain from doing so.
- If you must shower the day of your appointment, please only use luke warm water and “rinse off”.
- Soaps/lotions/deodorants the day of can create barriers, therefore not allow the solution to penetrate & develop properly.
- Bring or wear dark, loose fitting clothing.
- Once we’ve completed your session, you get to be lazy for the amount of time your artist recommends. That means: no dishes, no working out, don’t get wet or go swimming. Just chill and let that solution marinate for the required amount of time.
